almost all mobiles coming in market comes with a email option in the messages menu.
Ever thought of using that feature to send emails? These function is very much handy and will work with any mail account having POP3 or IMAP access. you can even send pictures,video,audio, MMS thru this feature without paying for the extra charges for sending MMS and other media content.
Find the below settings and follow the steps to configure your mobile mail.
- Goto Messages>Email>Settings
- Then goto Account Settings
- Goto More>Edit Account
- Select these options
Connect Using: Your GPRS account
Protocol: POP3
Incoming Server: get this from the mail account provider. (Usually mail.domainname.ext)
Incoming Port: 110
Encryption: No Encryption
Mailbox: Complete email id
Password: Your mail password
Outgoing Server: get this from the mail account provider. (Usually mail.domainname.ext)
Outgoing Port: 25
Email Address: Your complete email id
Download: Headers & Text - Save the settings.
Make sure that your GPRS is working and click on Send & Receive.
You are done with the settings. The settings above are given for Sony Ericsson Mobile, but usually common for all handset.
